Definition:
The northwestern point of Edgeĝya

Origin:
The hill ascended by Th. von Heuglin in August 1870. Astronomic station 325 m, for the Swedish-Russian Arc-of-Meridian Expedition 1899-1902. Building of cairn on August 28, 1898, by the Swedish division of the expedition. Visited by Wassiliew in August 1899, meteorological observations by the hunting expedition of the Norwegian F. Isachsen June 1904-August 1905. Originally Lee's Foreland was the name of the country forming the northwestern part of Edgeĝya, south of Freemansundet. Zorgdrager, however, used it of the northwestern corner, and Dunér and Nordeskiöld applied it to the headland itself. See also Blankodden
